Konnie Huq has won an award. Okay, not a very good one but it's still an award. She won a Morgan Award. "A what?" you may ask. It's something to do with Piers Morgan and, as he's very full of himself, he gave the trophy his name.

The awards are all about getting back at celebs who slap themselves on the back when going to more notable award occasions. So what did Konnie win hers for?

Not too sure if it's very clear but this is what Piers said, "My first Morgan goes to someone who told me just before she left Blue Peter, 'I can’t think how to do it with a bang. Richard Bacon did drugs, Peter Duncan did porn, Janet Ellis did unmarried pregnancy, I’m left with bestiality, but I think that might be a bit strong for Blue Peter…'"

Konnie Huq's award was titled PUTTING THE BLUE INTO BLUE PETER.

On receiveing the Morgan Award Konnie uttered, "I have never won anything in my life. So to be winning the best of the best tonight is a great honour. I’m speechless, thank you."

I guess you had to be there!

The Purple Konnie Huq Sweetie Wasn't Stolen

My favourite Quality Street chocolate is always the one with the purple wrapper - it's hazelnut and soft caramel. I got to thinking about this when I saw this photo of Konnie Huq and her purple party frock.

And while thinking about sweets Konnie has categorically denied that she ever stole sweets from Woolworths.

It seems that the Mirror reported Konnie as saying that in the past she had taken pick'n'mix sweeties from Woolies without paying. Dear old Valerie Singleton got a bit hot under the collar about this and criticised her for condoning theft.

Konie was misquoted in the original Mirror article. To make things clear she said, "I want to set the record straight. I probably said I love Woolies pick 'n' mix, I bet many a child can remember stealing sweets from there."

Sorted! Purple ones are always the best.

Konnie Huq Would Never Say Never

Konnie Huq has given an interview to the Mirror and was asked if she ever felt like doing something drastic to shed her goody-goody image. Konnie answered:

"If I wore a low-cut dress or showed my cleavage or did lad’s mags, people would make such a big deal. That has stopped me from doing it, but I would if it felt right. Maybe I could do some indie film and get my kit off. I’d never say never."

She's obviously quite domesticated though and this was the last thing she did in that direction:

"I sewed on a button. That sounds really crap, doesn’t it? But it was a complicated button …"

Konnie is to be the new face (or should that be hair) for Alberto Balsam shampoo.

She has already had a photo-shoot for the campaign and said, "I was photographed for the campaign by Gustavo Papaleo, who’s absolutely amazing."

What a fuss the tabloids made of Zoe Salmon's dress. The one she wore to a Coronation Street party a few days ago.

"What's this all got to do with Konnie Huq," you may ask.

Not an awful lot really but the Zoe dress is a similar occasion as 'the' Konnie dress - the one she wore to the Spiderman 3 premiere.

The dresses are simply a way of signifying to the public and media that these are two sexy women who have finished with kids' shows and now want to be part of the adult world. It's like being released from a restrictive institution - they are free to do as they now please.

It seems that Konnie Huq's sister Rupa Huq is an aspiring Labout Member of Parliament. So much so that she has been giving advice on how to belittle the Conservative leader David Cameron.

She reckons the easiest is to say that he's like Tony Blair!

Rupa enlarged on this by saying, "Cameron tries to present himself as an everyman who takes simple family holidays in Cornwall - while enjoying rather more exclusive jaunts on the sly."

Will Konnie Huq Expose The Blue Peter Sexy Secrets

There has been gossip that Konnie Huq will write a book spilling all the secrets and scandal about Blue Peter.

Over 10 years she obviously saw and heard a lot about the show. She knew, for example, about Valerie Singleton's ding dong with Peter Purves before it became public knowledge. But there are many more skeletons in the cupboard just waiting to be let loose.

Konnie told the Daily Star, for example, "I do know lots and lots of secrets about Blue Peter but I’m very good at keeping them. You can read about them when I publish my book." Can't really see her doing this though.

In the meantime Konnie has been involved with Piers Morgan, in a productive way with npower.

The electricity company held a Green SOS Academy competition on enviromental problems for schools. Children from the schools' finalists attended a workshop hosted by Konnie Huq.
