It can be a tough life as a television presenter. Poor old Konnie Huq has had to go all the way to St Lucia in the Caribbean to do a report for the Mail on Sunday. She even had to strip down and show off her cleavage in a yellow bikini. Tough or what.

As hard as it was though it sounds like she did manage to have a good time as she writes, "From about 10pm, people start dancing and - later - bumping and grinding to the music booming out from the massive speakers. This goes on till the early hours and can get a bit fruity! But it is a fabulous way to experience proper Caribbean life with a 50-50 mix of tourists and locals."

Konnie Huq has done a travel review for the Daily Mail called Sicily: Taormina, a dramatic retreat to the ruins.

Konnie starts by writing:

"Taormina oozes charm and beauty. It can be found on Sicily's east coast, with its centre looking out across the Mediterranean and its precariously balanced houses, cafes and restaurants cascading towards the coast."

She goes on to write a positive review on Taormina but does add a warning, "Speaking of tourists, Taormina is meant to be hell in August. Avoid that and you'll be in for a big surprise."

Konnie Huq To Present Hannah-oke Champions

Konnie Huq will be presenting a new television show, for the Disney Channel, alongside Duncan James based on the Hannah Montana character. It's a contest where the winners will be crowned Hannah-oke Champions. And, yes, there will be the inevitable judges: Nicki Chapman, Jason Gardiner and Disney Channel star Brad Kavanagh.

It all kicks off on Friday, May 15th at 6pm.

Can't wait. Okay, that's probably a fib!

Konnie Huq Silk Knickers And Other News

Thought we had better catch up on the Konnie Huq news.

As most of her admirers no doubt know Konnie has at last posed for one of the men's mags: FHM along with Zoe Salmon. The photos have been promoted as the Battle of Blue Peter for the May cover. So why have FHM done this? This is what they say:

"Why? Basically, because of these two. Konnie Huq and Zoe Salmon. As catalysts to many a burgeoning childhood sexuality, they made Blue Peter a ship worth sailing in: and so, to mark their recent departures and see them off into pastures new, FHM have exclusively shot both for our May 'Battle of Blue Peter' cover.

The photos are very tasteful, no boobs hanging out or g-strings! Though she does pose in silk comisole and matching knickers. For more info see the FHM website.

Moving on, Konnie revealed to Now magazine about how she had a bat in her bra while filming Blue Peter. Konnie commented, "I said stuff like, 'Ooh, it’s very at home down there.' It sounded really wrong!"

Leaving you to dwell on that thought and swiftly moving on to something more serious. It seems that sociologists Elizabeth Gorman of the University of Virginia and Julie Kmec of Washington State University, British and American women think they have to work harder than men.

And now spots! Konnie Huq told the Mirror about her favourite treatment for spots. Her advice? "I don’t get acne, but I sometimes get the odd spot and then I use Origins Spot Remover, £9.79. I discovered it when I had a bad spot at work and a make-up lady put it on me. It had gone down loads by the next day."

So there you go.

And finally Konnie is to be a judge, along with the likes of Woody Harrelson, Jon Snow and Monty Don, for the Observer Ethical Awards, which are being supported by the ecological manufacturer, Ecover.

Konnie Huq hopes to bounce to a world record! She is replacing Fearne Cotton on Sky 1's Guinness World Records and her first challenge will be to try and set a new record for bouncing on a trampoline course. The mind boggles.

Konnie said, "I've been training to get fit and it's been pure hell. I'm not particularly fit, I never go to the gym so trying to break the record for the number of bounces on the world's biggest trampoline course will be pretty hard work. I had to trampoline for my Blue Peter audition, but this is a lot tougher."

Zzzzz zzzzz, what is it about Konnie Huq and doing glamour or nude work. She seems to often be talking about it, but it's just teasing really. Or has she a secret desire to get her kit off for the camera?

As we know Konnie turned down an offer made by Playboy but still reckons she might do some gamour stuff but there again, maybe not!

She went back to her Blue Peter days and said, "A million times you're in a bikini doing a swimming film and it's in context. So if you're in a bikini on telly it's not that different from underwear, is it? I mean, I'm not going to start getting my kit off or anything, but it's all about context and how tasteful it is.

Sometimes you wear a dress that doesn't have straps and you're shot from the shoulders up and it looks like you're naked anyway. I just say: 'Never say never.'"

Back in 2007 Radio 1 and 1Xtra did a survey to see how people felt about their bodies and more than 25,000 people took part. 50% of females said they would consider plastic surgery.

In her position as a BBC presenter Konnie Huq takes a look at why people are choosing to have plastic surgery. You can hear the documentary on Radio 1Xtra here.

In the survey 10% if 18-24 year olds hated the way they looked. Also a quarter of the men who took part said they would think about going under the knife. Frightening stuff!

As for the photo - it shows why Konnie doesn't need plastic surgery herself and also why Playboy were reportedly offering her good money to do a photo spread. She declined, of course.

Konnie Huq has won an award. Okay, not a very good one but it's still an award. She won a Morgan Award. "A what?" you may ask. It's something to do with Piers Morgan and, as he's very full of himself, he gave the trophy his name.

The awards are all about getting back at celebs who slap themselves on the back when going to more notable award occasions. So what did Konnie win hers for?

Not too sure if it's very clear but this is what Piers said, "My first Morgan goes to someone who told me just before she left Blue Peter, 'I can’t think how to do it with a bang. Richard Bacon did drugs, Peter Duncan did porn, Janet Ellis did unmarried pregnancy, I’m left with bestiality, but I think that might be a bit strong for Blue Peter…'"

Konnie Huq's award was titled PUTTING THE BLUE INTO BLUE PETER.

On receiveing the Morgan Award Konnie uttered, "I have never won anything in my life. So to be winning the best of the best tonight is a great honour. I’m speechless, thank you."

I guess you had to be there!

The Purple Konnie Huq Sweetie Wasn't Stolen

My favourite Quality Street chocolate is always the one with the purple wrapper - it's hazelnut and soft caramel. I got to thinking about this when I saw this photo of Konnie Huq and her purple party frock.

And while thinking about sweets Konnie has categorically denied that she ever stole sweets from Woolworths.

It seems that the Mirror reported Konnie as saying that in the past she had taken pick'n'mix sweeties from Woolies without paying. Dear old Valerie Singleton got a bit hot under the collar about this and criticised her for condoning theft.

Konie was misquoted in the original Mirror article. To make things clear she said, "I want to set the record straight. I probably said I love Woolies pick 'n' mix, I bet many a child can remember stealing sweets from there."

Konnie Huq Would Never Say Never

Konnie Huq has given an interview to the Mirror and was asked if she ever felt like doing something drastic to shed her goody-goody image. Konnie answered:

"If I wore a low-cut dress or showed my cleavage or did lad’s mags, people would make such a big deal. That has stopped me from doing it, but I would if it felt right. Maybe I could do some indie film and get my kit off. I’d never say never."

She's obviously quite domesticated though and this was the last thing she did in that direction:

"I sewed on a button. That sounds really crap, doesn’t it? But it was a complicated button …"

Will Konnie Huq Expose The Blue Peter Sexy Secrets

There has been gossip that Konnie Huq will write a book spilling all the secrets and scandal about Blue Peter.

Over 10 years she obviously saw and heard a lot about the show. She knew, for example, about Valerie Singleton's ding dong with Peter Purves before it became public knowledge. But there are many more skeletons in the cupboard just waiting to be let loose.

Konnie told the Daily Star, for example, "I do know lots and lots of secrets about Blue Peter but I’m very good at keeping them. You can read about them when I publish my book." Can't really see her doing this though.

In the meantime Konnie has been involved with Piers Morgan, in a productive way with npower.

The electricity company held a Green SOS Academy competition on enviromental problems for schools. Children from the schools' finalists attended a workshop hosted by Konnie Huq. Konnie Huq Meets The Queen

"Time for tea," said the Queen and Konnie Huq, along with other ex Blue Peter presenters, went inside Buckingham Palace.

The occasion was the 50th anniversary of Blue Peter so we saw the likes of Konnie Huq with John Noakes, Lesley Judd, Peter Purvis, Diane-Louise Jarvis and Valerie Singleton line up to be presented to the monarch.

And, of course, tea wouldn't be tea without cake. The royal chef baked a big one with white ice and the blue and white ship Blue Peter logo.

A good time was had by all.
